The Year 11 students visited the Tweed Regional Gallery to collect primary information and insight from the 'Go Figure : Works from the Collection' exhibition.

GO FIGURE – Works from the Collection.

‘Pictures can say a thousand words, especially portraits, with each image sharing much, as the artist brings the sitters story to life through these still images.’

Respond to the quote, through critically analysing your two selected artworks. Evidence the similarities and differences within the artworks. Provide a justified viewpoint through effective research referring to the media, the techniques and processes, the use of symbols and scale, gesture and pose to determine the character of the sitter. ( What can you learn, or speculate, about the subject of the portrait?)

Include at least two referenced images.

1: Reflect on the quote.
2: Select two of the artists in the Exhibition as the basis for your response.
3: Select portraits that you are attracted to as you are going to go into the depth of them.
4: Research, using the process provided showing a broad base – analyse each aspect through observation. The artwork is the evidence.

Write 800 words specifically referring to the artworks as evidence.
